MOONDOGS SQUASH BUG PROBLEM

For the second consecutive night the MoonDogs beat the Alexandria Beetles, 5-3, giving them the sweep of the series and put the MoonDogs in first place at 3-1.

Once again the scoring started early as leadoff hitter Aaron Grant, who was 2-3, singled, stole second and third, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jeremiah Piepkorn.

Jason Conrad threw an excellent game going 7 innings giving up just 3 runs and 6 hits, while striking out 8. In the 8th, Rick Cavaiani came on in relief in a difficult situation. With the bases loaded and no one out, Cavaiani forced a beautiful 3-6-1 double play, getting the Dogs out of a jam.

Travis "Starfish” Johnson made his second appearance in two nights, picking up the save in tonight’s win. It was his 3rd on the season.

Tomorrow’s game showcases the MoonDogs against defending Northwoods League Champs, the Waterloo Bucks at 7:05.
