In their first game back after the All-Star game, the MoonDogs struggled to find their rhythm again, losing 3-1 to the Alexandria Beetles.

Newly activated pitcher, Warren Rosebrock, from Sacramento State, who flew in Wednesday morning, started for the MoonDogs. He came highly recommended by last year’s head coach Rusty McClain. Rosebrock threw 6 solid innings for the MoonDogs allowing only 3 runs on 5 hits.

Jeremiah Piepkorn, the MoonDogs All-Star shortstop, was 3-4 in the game including a triple and the only RBI.

Beetles pitcher Chris Nicoll challenged the MoonDogs hitters all night, throwing a complete game, giving up only 1 run while striking out 8.

Tonight’s game at Alexandria is set for 7:05 matching up 2 of the most dominant pitchers in the league. Will Krout (6-1) for the MoonDogs vs. Jesse Ingram (5-0) for the Beetles.

The MoonDogs return home tomorrow night against the Duluth Huskies, game time is 6:05 pm.
