The third largest crowd at Franklin Rogers Park this year, 1,186, left looking much like the Bobbleheads they were given as they walked into the game: with shaking heads.

They were shaking their heads in disbelief as the MoonDogs played their 9th extra inning game of the season, and losing 4-3. The Dogs are now 2-7 in extra inning games.

The MoonDogs and the WoodChucks played into the 10th inning tied at 3-3. In the top half of the 10th, the WoodChucks put together a 2-out rally, getting 3 consecutive singles and scoring the game winning run off of MoonDogs reliever Philip Springman, who is now 1-2 on the year.

Offensively for the MoonDogs, things started in the first with a Ryan Chiarelli double, who would eventually score on a Jeremiah Piepkorn single. Chiarelli stayed hot the rest of the game as he was 3-4 in the game with a single, double, and a triple (Just a home run shy of the cycle.)

The MoonDogs used a number of pitchers in tonight’s game trying to shut down the ‘Chucks. Shaun Corning started the game lasting into the 5th giving up only 1 run. He was followed by Rick Cavaiani, Scott Fogelson, Ryan Hamilton, and finally Philip Springman.

Tomorrow night the MoonDogs will be in Waterloo for a 2-game series there, before returning to the Frank on Thursday for a doubleheader with Waterloo again. Game time is 6:05. It is also Team Poster Night.
