A game that was supposed to be a "Guaranteed Win" for the MoonDogs backfired, as the Waterloo Bucks scored at will to win 12-0.

The Bucks scored one run in the top of the first before putting up ten runs in the middle innings. Three runs came in the fourth, two in the fifth, five more in the sixth, with the final run coming in the eighth inning.

Waterloo racked up thirteen hits to go along with their twelve runs. John Shelby abused the MoonDogs pitching staff as he went 4-4 on the night as he hit two home runs, scored five runs, and drove in three.

After Jose Shaw had a rough go of it to start the game for the MoonDogs, two position players came in to give the bullpen some rest. Brad Baker pitched in his second game of the year throwing one inning.

Jimmy Strombach also came in to help the ‘Dogs pitching staff and did so in impressive fashion. He struck out five batters, while giving up just one run on one hit.

Mankato will hit the road for a two game road trip to Alexandria on Wednesday and Thursday nights. After the game Thursday night, they return home to start a two game series against North Division leading St. Cloud River Bats Friday and Saturday night at Franklin Rogers Park.
