After giving up two unearned runs in the first inning, the MoonDogs scored seven unanswered runs to beat the Duluth Huskies 7-2.

MoonDogs starting pitcher Will Krout dominated from the beginning. He pitched seven excellent innings, while giving up just three hits and two unearned runs.

The middle innings turned out to be very kind to the MoonDogs, putting up one run in the third, three in the fourth, and one more in the fifth. They finished their scoring by getting a run in each of the top of the eighth and ninth innings.

Brad Baker, who has been on a tear of late, went 3-4 with a double, two runs scored, and a RBI. Brandon Fromm went 2-4 with a run scored and a RBI.

With his dominating performance, Will Krout picked up his second win of the year and lowered his ERA to 1.62 to place him fifth in the Northwoods League.

The K-9 battle will finish up Monday night in Duluth, then the MoonDogs return home to host defending Northwoods League champion Wisconsin Woodchucks at Franklin Rogers Park.
