Madison’s starting pitcher Daryl Maday had a nice outing, going 6.1 innings, while the Mallards offense posted 6 runs, in front of 1,156 at Franklin Rogers Park, to win, 6-2.

The Mallards scored one run in the top of the fourth inning off of MoonDogs starting pitcher, Skyler Young, to take the lead 1-0.

Young pitched a nice game until he got into a jam in the top of the seventh inning when the Mallards scored four times. The first 2 runs came off of Young before he was taken out of the game with 1 out. Kevin Dixon came in relief and had an uncharacteristic outing, as he was only able to record 1 out while giving up 2 runs on 2 hits.

With Madison leading 5-0, the ‘Dogs tried to make a come back in the bottom half of the seventh inning. Brad Baker, Tony Gonzalez and Barrett Rice led off the inning with three straight singles to produce the ‘Dogs first run. With 1 out, Jordan Prado tallied an RBI with a base-hit to score Gonzalez, then Brady Dolan hit into an inning-ending double-play to end the rally.

Madison scored one more run in the top of the eighth inning to round out the scoring.

The MoonDogs continue their 9-game home stand Sunday night at 6:05 p.m. against the Waterloo Bucks. For ticket information call 507-625-7047.
