With a pair of runs in the first inning, the MoonDogs went all-in and cashed in their chips against the Honkers, as Neil Wagner came on in the ninth to strike out the side, preserving the shutout in the 2-0 victory.

Ryan Chiarelli got the MoonDogs going in the first inning, smacking a double down the left field line. After Chiarelli advanced to third base on a wild pitch, Jordan Prado reached on an error that scored Chiarelli for the ‘Dogs first run. Then, hot-hitting Aaron Grant followed that up with a triple down the right field line, scoring Prado to make it 2-0.

Starting pitcher Scott Sharpe, and relievers Brandon Hodge, Jose Shaw and Neil Wagner, all combined on the 3-hit shutout.

Scott Sharpe (2-4) threw 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 2, while getting his second win. Flame thrower, Neil Wagner, overpowered the Rochester hitters in the ninth to pick up his third save on the season.

The Honkers, Kevin Dryanski, threw a complete game in a losing effort, finishing with 8 innings pitched, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, walking none and striking out 1.

Aaron Grant finished 2-4 on the night with a triple and an RBI.
