(Mankato, MN) — The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is proud to announce the signing of Chad Tilley and Kevin Regan to their 2005 roster. Tilley and Regan, both right handed pitchers from Elon University, are playing under the tutelage of 2005 MoonDogs head coach Robbie Huffstetler.

Regan, who showed his ability to dominate opposing hitters in the Coastal Plain League last season, boasted an unblemished 4-0 record with a 2.72 ERA. Regan racked up 51 strikeouts and allowed only nine walks for the Wilmington Sharks in 2004.

For Elon in 2004, Regan made 14 appearances from the bullpen, striking out eight during his 12 innings of work. In 2003, Regan led the team with a 2.88 ERA, compiling 24 strikeouts while only allowing eight earned runs.

"Regan brings in a very different look to batters when he comes into the game,” said Coach Huffstetler. "His sidearm pitching style, with the movement it brings, will make it very tough for opposing batters, especially in a wood bat league like the Northwoods League.”

Tilley, like Regan, had his way with Coastal Plain League batters in 2004; posting a 2.21 ERA while earning a 4-1 record and striking out 34 batters during his 36 innings of work. Tilley’s performance earned him a place on the 2004 Coastal Plain League All-Star team.

For Elon in 2004, Tilley saw a lot of action out of the Phoenix bullpen as a setup guy, making 20 appearances while posting a 1-0 record and picking up a save. This past weekend Tilley struck out the only batter he faced against Auburn, picking up his first save of the season as one of Elon’s closer.

"Tilley, with his submarine style, brings a lot of the same benefits that Regan does,” Huffstetler said. "Tilley gets a ton of movement on his fastball and has a great slider as well. I’m expecting both guys to work one or two innings at a time and set things up for Neil Wagner to close the door.”

"Knowing what these guys have done and the confidence Coach Huffstetler has in them, they will both be impact players for the MoonDogs this season,” MoonDogs general manager Kyle Mrozek said.

The MoonDogs home opener is set for June 6, 2005, against the St. Cloud River Bats. Season tickets and group tickets are on sale now with single game tickets available May 7. Call the MoonDogs Ticket Office at 507-625-7047 or check out www.mankatomoondogs.com for more information.
