(6/19/08)

Looking to extend their three game winning streak, The MoonDogs invited the Rochester Honkers to into town. The ‘Dogs, hoping to maintain their momentum, could never find their groove as the Honkers silenced the MoonDogs bats, winning 4-0.

Errors, walks, and some great hitting by the Honkers allowed them to jump out to an early 4-0 lead over the MoonDogs after 4 innings. The MoonDogs could not get comfortable in the box against starting Honkers pitcher Tim Radmacher. Radmacher pitched seven scoreless innings allowing 5 hits and striking out 7. The ‘Dogs stranded 8 base runners throughout the contest, allowing the Honkers to fly away with a 4-0 win.

The leading hitter for the MoonDogs was centerfielder Aaron Grant. Grant had 3 hits in 4 at bats. Reid Fronk and Jon Rupno had the other two hits of the game for the ‘Dogs, each going 1-4 at the plate.

Bobby Lewton continued his dominance on the mound. In his three innings of work he allowed no runs and surrendered just two hits keeping his ERA at 0.00. Matt Lawhorn made his first appearance in the Northwoods league after being activated from the DL. Lawhorn pitched one inning and allowed no runs and just one hit.
