Thunder Shakes MoonDogs
(6/21/05)

The Mankato MoonDogs looked to repeat their performance of game one in the second game of Tuesday’s double header. The Blue Thunders offense could not be shut down twice though as they overpowered the MoonDogs to win 7-4.

The Brainerd Blue Thunder put up back to back three run innings in the 4th and 5th highlighted by a Lars Davis three run round tripper. Despite Reid Fronk extending his hitting streak to nine games and a Shane Buschini two run blast in the 7th, the MoonDogs could not cut the lead and fell 7-4 to the Blue Thunder.

With a double in the second inning, Reid Fronk has gotten a hit in all nine of his Northwoods League games. Right fielder Shane Buschini went 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Travis Howell rounds out the leading hitters with a 2-4 for night, with one RBI and a double.

The MoonDogs will travel to Alexandria on Wednesday and Thursday to take on the Beetles. This will be the first time this season these two teams will face off. For all the excitement click on the "listen live” link at www.mankatomoondogs.com to listen to John Hadden give the play-by-play.
