‘Dogs Win! ‘Dogs Win!
(6/28/05)

Going into the eighth inning, it looked as though the Wisconsin Woodchucks would be celebrating a two game sweep of the MoonDogs. The Woodchucks had been rolling, allowing just three hits in the first seven innings. Then came the eighth inning when the MoonDogs put up three runs to go on to a 5-4 come from behind victory.

Both teams came out of the gates fast, scoring two runs in the first inning to knot the game at 2-2. Shane Buschini hit is 5th homerun of the season with a 2 run shot to right field in the bottom of the inning.

Woodchuck’s pitchers Brice Wells and Jon Ganzen shut the MoonDogs down through seven innings until Buschini and Drew Davis hit back to back singles to start off the eighth. A few batters later, the ‘Dogs had one run on the board and the bases loaded for Ryan Addison who singled to tie the game up at 4-4. With the bases still jammed and one out, Aaron Grant brought in the go ahead run with his single through the right side of the infield.

Going into the 9th inning with the score 5-4, the game was handed over to MoonDogs closer Neil Wagner. Wagner did not disappoint as he sent the batters down in order, striking out two in the process and earning his fifth save.

Shane Buschini continued to crush the ball, leading the MoonDogs in hitting with a 2-4 night at the plate with a home run, a pair of runs and two RBI.

Tyson Brummett started the game for the MoonDogs, going six innings while striking out six. Kevin Regan picked up his second win of the season working in two innings.

The MoonDogs will head to Waterloo on June 29th to take on the Bucks in the first game of their three game road trip. The MoonDogs very own John Hadden will call all of the action.
