MoonDogs Fall To River Bats

In front of a sold out crowd, 2,391 faithful, the MoonDogs fell behind quickly giving up seven runs in just the first three innings, only two of which were earned. Joey Haug relieved Young in the fourth inning and shut the River Bats down in his four innings of work, allowing one run and striking out five.

The MoonDogs fought back in the sixth inning when Robert Rodebaugh and Ryan Addison hit back to back RBI singles. But the deficit was too much to overcome as the River Bats cruised to an 8-3 win. Rodebaugh and Addison ended the night each going 2-4 with one RBI.

First baseman Travis Howell led the MoonDogs in offense going 2-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Aaron Grant and Drew Davis both tallied one run while batting 2-4 against St. Cloud. Grant also made his first appearance of the season out of the bullpen, dealing a scoreless eighth inning.

The MoonDogs return to the friendly confines of Franklin Rogers Park on Saturday, July 2nd to end a three game road trip. The ‘Dogs will look to repeat their history with the River Bats this season, and split the two game series. Saturday is "Latino Night” presented by LA-MANO.
