MoonDogs Silence Bats
(7/2/05)

With the score tight at 2-1 going in the bottom of the seventh inning, the MoonDogs led off with two walks from Aaron Grant and Matt Mossey. Proving they can play small ball, Bobby Verbick bunted to move the runners over but instead found himself on first with a single. From then on the runs poured in as the MoonDogs batted around the order hitting a total of six singles and scoring seven runs to take a commanding 9-2 lead they would never relinquish.

The heart of the order came up big for the MoonDogs. The number five hitter, Travis Howell, had a big day at the plate, going 3-5 with a pair of RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored. Shane Buschini continued to generate offense going 2-4 with two runs, two RBI, and a stolen base. The designated hitter Bobby Verbick did his share with a 2-4 performance at the dish with one run and one walk.

Kevin Regan made his 17th appearance on the year striking out the side in his one inning of work. Neil Wagner closed the door on the Bats to seal the victory for the MoonDogs.

The next MoonDogs home game will be Monday, July 4th, at 6:05 p.m. For tickets call the MoonDogs office at 507-625-7047 or stop by either Hy-Vee location in Mankato.
