Seeing Stars! MoonDogs Place 6 in All-Star Game!
(7/9/05)
The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is proud to announce its mid-season All-Star selections for the 2005 game to be played Wednesday, July 13 in Alexandria, Minnesota.
The MoonDogs placed 6 players on the North Division roster, tied with the Rochester Honkers for most of any team this year. Starting pitchers Tyson Brummett (UCLA) and Bobby Lewton (Fort Hays State), closer Neil Wagner (NDSU), centerfielder Aaron Grant (UC-Riverside), right fielder Shane Buschini (San Diego), and third baseman Reid Fronk (North Carolina) were chosen in a vote by the 12-member teams of the Northwoods League. Ballots were cast by each team’s field staff, radio and/or media contact.
Defending League Champion Madison had 5 of its players selected including OF Ryan Rogowski (Illinois), who was a 2004 South Division All-Star selection. Other returning All-Stars from the 2004 game played in Wausau, Wisconsin include La Crosse pitcher Adam Rogers (Evansville) and Wisconsin pitcher Jay Buente (Purdue), both representing the South Division.
The host North Division will take on the South Division at Knute Nelson Memorial Field, home to the NWL’s Alexandria Beetles. Game time is set for 7:05 with a post-game fireworks show immediately following the game.
