MoonDogs Hit Road Block In Duluth

The MoonDogs and Huskies took the field in Duluth on Sunday to play game-two of the two-game series. All-Star pitcher Bobby Lewton looked to continue is solid pitching and end the Huskies four game winning streak. The Huskies bats came alive though against the MoonDogs bullpen as they scored six runs in the last two innings to roll to a 10-5 win and hand the MoonDogs their fourth straight loss.

The MoonDogs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead when Travis Howell hit a two run double to right center followed by an RBI single by Shane Buschini. The Huskies fought back though, putting together a pair of two run innings in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-3 lead. The Huskies did more damage in the seventh and eighth innings when they added six more runs off the MoonDogs bullpen making the final score 10-5.

Travis Howell led the MoonDogs in hitting on the night going 3-5 with two RBI, two runs and a double. Shane Buschini contributed with a 3-4 night including one RBI and one run.

Bobby Lewton was handed his first loss of the season as he goes 4-1 on the year. Lewton pitched seven innings allowing three earned runs while walking no batters.

The MoonDogs will enjoy an off day on Monday, July 25, to prepare for a double header in St. Cloud on Tuesday, July 26.
