The "Rode" to Victory!
(8/5/05)

The MoonDogs continued to roll on Friday night at Franklin Rogers Park, as they defeated the St. Cloud River Bats 8-4, winning their fourth consecutive game. Robert Rodebaugh highlighted the second inning when he went yard with a two run shot to right field. The River Bats put together four consecutive one run innings, but the MoonDogs overpowered the Bats by scoring six runs in the bottom of the fifth to go on to an 8-4 win.

With one out in the bottom of the second inning, Aaron Grant walked to give way to Robert Rodebaugh who answered to the River Bats one run in the top of the inning with a long ball, his fifth of the season. Brandon Crawford then came inches away from making it back to back homeruns as he hit the top of the left field fence for a double.

The MoonDogs found themselves down 4-2 and in need of a spark after four innings of play. Reid Fronk gave that spark as he led off the fifth inning with a double. The fifth inning then saw ten MoonDogs step up to the plate as they scored six runs on two doubles, two singles, two walks, and two errors.

MoonDogs starter Tyson Brummett dealt one more inning in the sixth until he gave way to Derek Tarapacki in the seventh after allowing just three earned runs while striking out six River Bats. Tarapacki along with Neil Wagner kept the River Bats hitless in the last three innings as the MoonDogs went on to win their 3rd straight against the River Bats, 8-4.

Robert Rodebaugh was the MoonDogs star of the night, going 2-3 including a homerun with two runs scored, two RBI, and one walk. Brandon Crawford also continued his strong play going 2-4 with a double, two stolen bases, and one run.
