Retired Grant

(8/10/05) On Wednesday night, Aaron Grant became the first player in MoonDogs history to have his number retired. The #1 was put away for good in front of a record 1,767 MoonDogs fans, all cheering loudly as his number was hung on the centerfield wall.

The UC-Riverside stand out and centerfielder of the MoonDogs received a standing ovation when he walked off the field at Franklin Rogers Park for the last time in the eighth inning. Grant played three seasons for the MoonDogs earning All-Star honors all three years and breaking team records in games played, at bats, runs scored, hits, doubles, triples, RBI, and stolen bases. As a leader of the MoonDogs, his heart and dedication to the team and baseball has never been questioned. Thanks for all the memories number one and congratulations, you are now a MoonDogs legend!
