(Mankato, MN)—The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is proud to announce the release of the 2006 MoonDogs game schedule.

The 2006 schedule is comprised of 68 games which will be played over the course of 74 days beginning June 1, 2006. The MoonDogs will be at home at Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato for 34 nights this season with opening night in Mankato slated for June 2, 2006.

The MoonDogs will open the 2006 season on the road against the Waterloo Bucks, in Waterloo, Iowa on June 1, and then return to play the Bucks at home on Friday, June 2. As custom, opening night will not only dazzle fans during the game, but a post-game fireworks extravaganza will follow as well.

North Division rival and perennial playoff contenders the St. Cloud River Bats fly into town on June 13 for their first of six games in Mankato this season, while the 2005 North Division and Northwoods League Champion Thunder Bay Border Cats make their way south on June 24-25 for a two-game series at "The Frank.”

The two-time reigning South Division Champion Madison Mallards, make their way to town for a two-game series starting July 3, starting what will be five of six games in a row at Franklin Rogers park.

The La Crosse Loggers will play host to the 2006 All-Star festivities which begin on Tuesday, July 11, with the All-Star game on Wednesday July 12. Be sure to join all 12 teams from the Northwoods League as they send representatives to south eastern Wisconsin for the annual event.

The MoonDogs final homestand, August 8-9, will feature the MoonDogs against the Thunder Bay Border Cats in what could prove to be a pivotal playoff deciding series. The ‘Dogs will conclude the season with another spectacular fireworks display following the game on August 9.

The regular season will conclude with the MoonDogs in Eau Claire to take on the Express on Sunday, August 13. The 2006 playoffs are set for Division Series beginning August 14, while the Championship Series will be held August 17-19.
