(6/22/06) Four La Crosse Loggers posted multi-hit games, and a MoonDogs error in the fifth inning broke open a close game as the Loggers posted a 6-1 win Thursday night.

With the Loggers leading 2-1 with two outs in the fifth, Ross McCoy singled to left and Jesse Hart was waved around third. But left fielder Ryan Addison had the ball scoot past him for an error, and the Loggers went on to add two more runs in the inning against MoonDogs starter Tyson Brummett.

Brummett (0-1), making his return to Mankato, gave up four runs on eight hits in six innings. He struck out four and walked three in his 2006 MoonDogs debut.

The MoonDogs took the lead in the third inning when Addison singled and stole second with two outs. Tim Smith singled to left to drive in Mankato’s only run of the night. Smith continued his hot hitting by going 2-for-4.

Bob Brenly, who managed the Arizona Diamondbacks to the 2001 World Series title, was in attendance to watch his son Michael play for the Loggers. The elder Brenly sang "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" in front of 1,463 fans at Franklin Rogers Park, while his son went 1-for-4.
