(8/1/06) Due to severe weather, including heavy rainfall and excessive lightning, Tuesday’s game between the Mankato MoonDogs and St. Cloud River Bats was suspended in the top of the fifth inning.

A severe weather system moved through the area around 8:00 p.m., when Blue Earth County was placed under a tornado warning. As the warning expired at 8:45, the rain began to fall steadily and was accompanied by frequent lightning, leading to the suspension of the game.

The game will conclude IN ST. CLOUD on Thursday, August 10 with the River Bats leading 1-0, with the regularly scheduled contest, a seven-inning game, to follow. Game time for the conclusion of the game is yet to be determined.

Tuesday’s promotion, Blind-As-A-Bat Night, where a fan was to win free laser eye surgery, will take place on Tuesday, August 8 when the MoonDogs play the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 7:05 p.m. The MoonDogs host Brainerd on Wednesday, August 2 at the scheduled time of 7:05 p.m., with gates opening at 6:05.
