(Mankato, MN) – The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is proud to announce the release of the 2007 MoonDogs game schedule.

The 2007 schedule is comprised of 68 games which will be played over the course 74 days which will begin on Thursday, May 31 and end Sunday, August 12. All eyes around the nation will be on Mankato and its’ community on Wednesday, July 11, as it plays host to the 13th annual Northwoods League All-Star Game.

The MoonDogs are slated to begin the 2007 season on the road against the defending 2006 Northwoods League Champion Rochester Honkers, in Rochester, Minnesota on May 31, and then return to play the Honkers at home on Friday, June 1. One of the hottest tickets of the season, the home opener will not only excite the fans, but a post-game fireworks extravaganza will follow as well.

Over the off-season, the Northwoods League expanded to two new markets that include the Green Bay Bullfrogs (Wisconsin) and the Battle Creek Bombers (Michigan). On June 15, Battle Creek will be the first of the two expansion teams to raid "The Frank,” as they will come in to kick off the longest home-stand of the year that includes 12 out of the next 14 games at home. With expansion bringing the total teams to 14 and schedule conflicts, Green Bay and Eau Claire will not appear on the MoonDogs schedule this summer.

North Division rival and perennial playoff contenders the St. Cloud River Bats fly south to do battle on June 21 for their first of four games in Mankato. St. Cloud will also be in town to wrap-up the home portion of the 2007 regular season on August 9-10.

This years schedule is highlighted by the annual Northwoods League All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 11. Top players from around the league will be voted on by coaches and front office personnel to represent their respective team. Last year, the MoonDogs had five participants in the summer classic that included pitchers Dan Klous, Johnnie Lowe, Dane Secott, and Steve Salas along with outfielder Tim Smith.
