(Mankato, MN) Once again the Mankato MoonDog fans were treated to a great pitcher’s duel, but this time the MoonDogs were on the wrong end of the final score as the Waterloo Bucks rallied to score one run in the eighth and one run in the ninth to defeat the Mankato squad 2-1.

The top of the ninth began with a hit batsman and a walk by MoonDog reliever Dale Dickerson (Nicholls St.) who was beginning his second inning of relief. Zach Calhoon (Texas-San Antonio) had come into the game in the top of the seventh and set the side down in order striking out two. The Waterloo batters were battling Dickerson tough through both of his innings and a couple of hard hit balls in the wrong place, coupled with a Bobby Munoz error on a handcuffing line drive, scored two runs for the Bucks in the final two innings of the game.

Michael Rockett (Texas-San Antonio) led the MoonDogs offensively going 2-for-4 on the evening. Matt Prokopowicz (Hofstra) scored the MoonDogs only run of the game coming on a Bobby Munoz (St. Leo’s) RBI.

The two teams will square off once again on Wednesday night at Franklin Rogers Park with the first pitch scheduled to be thrown at 7:05pm. Tickets are available at the MoonDog ticket office, located at 310 Belle Ave., or at the park prior to the game. If you have any ticket questions, contact the ticket office at (507)-625-7047.
