Cedar Rapids, Iowa – National recognition has come for the Mankato MoonDogs as they are enjoying possibly the best summer in their existence. The MoonDogs are ranked 13th in the latest Perfect Game-Crosschecker Summer College Rankings that were released yesterday.

The MoonDogs were one of three Northwoods League teams ranked in the top 25, as La Crosse came in at ninth and Rochester came in at 14th in the rankings.

The MoonDogs reached their high-water mark in the rankings last weekend, coming in at the #9 slot before falling to 13th this past week. The Dogs have been in the rankings since the June 24th poll in which they checked in at 11th.

The MoonDogs are currently 30-17 overall after winning the first half and qualifying for the Northwoods League playoffs. The Dogs will also send six players to next week’s all-star game in Thunder Bay. Those players include Ryan Demmin (UW-Oshkosh), James Wise (Washington State), Tim Griffin (Rollins), Danny Miller (Minnesota State), Kyle Knudson (Minnesota) and KC Serna (Oregon).
