"Jordan had an excellent freshman year at Penn State and was one of the leading hitters in the Big Ten in 2009,” said manager Mike Orchard. "We are looking forward to him being a team leader for us in 2010.”

Eberle, a 6-foot, 196-pound sophomore, from Chattanooga, Tenn. plays third base for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. As a freshman, Eberle hit .305 and led the team in home runs (11). "Sam had a great freshman season in 2009 and we are excited to see his power continue in 2010,” Orchard said. "Sam has the ability to hit a home run every time he comes up to bat and we look forward to having that power in Mankato this summer.”
