(Mankato, MN) – With 1820 people in attendance, the Honkers bit back. Rochester evened out the series 1-1 after an 8-2 victory. The MoonDogs scratched together six hits, two apiece for Robbie Robinson (Valparaiso) and Bobby Jacobs (Penn State).

Blake Schwartz (MSU-Mankato) went six innings for the Dogs, despite giving up all eight runs, six of which were earned. The MoonDogs also made three errors in the game, while allowing 12 hits. Tim Fangman (Blackhawk JC) didn’t allow a hit to the Honkers over the last two innings.

For Rochester, Bryan Lippincott (Concordia) destroyed the MoonDogs pitching, going 4-5 with four RBI, earning him player of the night honors. Bret Mitchell (MSU-Mankato), battling college teammate Blake Schwartz won the battle tonight, going 7.2 innings and punching-out seven batters.

The Honkers host the MoonDogs tonight in the series finale, at Mayo Field. The first pitch will be at 7:05 and pit Joby Lapkowicz (Slippery Rock) against, Rochester native, Josh McKeon (Upper Iowa).

The MoonDogs return home Wednesday, June 9th to take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats. It is Magnet Schedule Night presented by TCF Bank and The Fan. The first 1,000 fans receive a free 2010 MoonDogs magnet schedule.
