Mankato, Minn.—The Mankato MoonDogs defeated the Rochester Honkers five to three last night at Franklin Rogers Park.

The MoonDogs took an early lead as second baseman Cody Fick (Evansville) had an RBI single to plate third baseman Sam Eberle (Jacksonville State). The Honkers then took the lead three to one, scoring one in the fourth and two in the fifth.

The MoonDogs would not be denied as they scored three in the sixth on three singles and an error on Honkers third baseman, Devin Thaut (Paradise Valley CC) which allowed two Dogs to score. They added an insurance run in the seventh on an Eberle single.

MoonDogs starting pitcher Tony Dischler (LSU-Eunice) gave up all three Honker runs and managed to get through four and two-third innings. Pitcher Tim Fangman (Black Hawk JC) picked up the win going two innings and setting the table for pitcher Chase Joiner (U of Memphis). Joiner picked up an impressive seven out save, his fifth of the season.

The MoonDogs take to the road this week with one game in Rochester and a three-game series in Alexandria. They will return home Saturday to face the St. Cloud River Bats at 7:05 at Franklin Rogers Park. It will be Dora "The Explorer" night presented by Charter Communications.
