Mankato, Minn.—The Mankato MoonDogs lost 4 to 2 against the Brainerd Lunkers Tuesday night at Franklin Rogers Park.

In a pitching duel the MoonDogs were able to pick up two runs in the sixth inning when second baseman Sam Lind (Vanderbilt) hit a two-run homerun. It was Lind’s second homerun in two games. The Lunkers answered in the top of the seventh with three base hits and a walk to score four runs.

Pitcher Logan Odom (USC) went six innings, did not give up a run and allowed two hits. Joby Lapkowicz (Slippery Rock) pitched one third innings and gave up four runs, only three were earned. The Lunkers’ pitching staff was impressive giving up a total of two runs on four hits and fourteen strike outs.

Lunkers’ starting pitcher Ian Horkley (Davidson College) went six innings, allowed two runs on three hits and struck out eight MoonDogs. Nick Anderson (St. Cloud State) came on for the save, allowed no runs on one hit and struck out six.

The MoonDogs remain home against the Lunkers tomorrow for 1:05 p.m. game at Franklin Rogers Park. It will be Daycare Day and Senior Day. All seniors get in for just $1.
