Mankato, Minn. – The Mankato MoonDogs defeated the Brainerd Lunkers 6 to 4 Wednesday at Franklin Rogers Park.

It was another pitcher’s dual with both starting pitchers going deep into the game. The MoonDogs started the scoring with a Jordan Steranka (Penn State) three-run homerun in the fourth inning. The Lunkers started a come back by scoring a run in the sixth and eighth innings. The MoonDogs, however, were able to get two insurance runs in the eighth inning on a Trever Adams (Creighton) double.

‘Dogs pitcher Blake Schwartz (Minn. State) went seven innings and allowed two runs, only one was earned. Tim Fangman (Black Hawk JC) came on for the save. He went one inning and gave up one run on three hits.

Second baseman Sam Lind (Vanerbilt) went three for four and scored twice. Trever Adams went two for four with two runs scored and two runs batted in.

The MoonDogs remain home tomorrow to face the Alexandria Beetles at 7:05 p.m. at Franklin Rogers Park. It is Mini Kiss Night at Franklin Rogers presented by Busters and the Blaze, so come out and see the show.
