Mankato, Minn. – MoonDogs lose to the Alexandria Beetles 8 to 2 Friday at Franklin Rogers Park.

The Beetles continued to hit the ball well. They put up eight runs on eleven hits. The MoonDogs managed to score two runs on seven hits. The Beetles scored two runs in the third inning and six more runs in the later innings. The MoonDogs scored a single run in the fifth and seventh innings.

MoonDogs second baseman Cody Fick (Evansville) went two for three with two runs scored. First baseman Rob Ort (Indiana State) went two for four and catcher Brad Lamberti (Des Moines CC) had the MoonDogs only run batted in.

MoonDogs’ pitcher Jim Stokes (Elon) went five innings and gave up three runs on four hits. The MoonDogs’ bullpen struggled and gave up five runs in four innings. Beetles pitcher Lindsey Caughel (Stetson) went six and two third innings and gave up two runs on six hits and stuck out nine MoonDogs.

The MoonDogs remain home tomorrow to face the Willmar Stinger at 7:05 p.m. at Franklin Rogers Park. It will be St. Patty’s Day in July so come out and wear your green.
