Mankato, Minn. – The Mankato MoonDogs lost to the Rochester Honkers at Franklin Rogers Park Saturday 12-6.

The MoonDogs scored six runs in the first four innings but could not hold off the Honkers. Rochester came back from the six run deficit to win the game. The ‘Dogs gave up three runs in the ninth to lose the lead and the Honkers put up six more runs in the eleventh inning to seal the win.

Pitcher Sam Selman (Vanderbilt) went five and two third innings and gave up two runs on four hits. The ‘Dogs used five pitchers through out the game and Logan Frame (St. Ambrose) took the loss.

First baseman Jordan Steranka (Penn State) had another good night at the play going three for five with a run scored. The MoonDogs remain home Sunday to play the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 6:05 p.m. at Franklin Rogers Park. It will be Baseball Card Night and the first five hundred kids receive a pack of MoonDogs’ trading cards.
