Mankato, Minn. – The Mankato MoonDogs beat the Thunder Bay Border Cats 4-1 at Franklin Rogers Park Monday.

The MoonDogs scored one run in the fifth inning on a Cody Fick (Evansville) double and two more in the sixth on a Mike Moore (Lindenwood) single. The Border Cats were able to get one run in the fifth on a double to the wall but could not do anything else with the MoonDog pitching.

Pitcher Logan Odom (USC) earned the win. He went seven and one third innings and allowed one run on three hits and struck out nine ‘Cats. Pitcher Anthony Campanella (Elgin CC) got the save.

Moore went two for three with a run scored and drove in one run and Fick went one for four with a double and one run batted in.

The MoonDogs are on the road for a week and will return home Monday to face the St. Cloud River Bats at 7:05 p.m. at Franklin Rogers Park. It will be Back to School Night presented by Capstone Publishing and Hot 96.7. The first 400 kids receive a free book, so come out and enjoy a great game.
