Mankato, Minn. – The Mankato MoonDogs lost to the Alexandria Beetles 4-3 Sunday at Franklin Rogers Park.

The Beetles scored a single run in each of the first three innings and one more in the fifth inning. The MoonDogs were able to make a push by scoring two runs in the third inning and came with in one run in the sixth but could not pull it of.

Beetles’ pitcher Pedro Ramos (Lewis and Clark) went eight and one third innings and got the win. He allowed three runs on six hits and struck out five. MoonDogs’ pitcher Alex Blackford (Arizona State) went four two thirds innings and received the loss. He allowed four runs, two earned, on five hits.

Second baseman David Miller (Purdue) went three for four on the night with two runs scored and a run batted in. Short stop Sam Lind went two for two with two runs batted in.

The MoonDogs are home for the last game of the season Monday at 7:05 at Franklin Rogers Park. It is Fan Appreciation Night at The Frank and there will be a Fireworks Extravaganza following the game.
