Mankato, Minn. – The Mankato MoonDogs beat the Alexandria Beetles 6-4 Monday at Franklin Rogers Park.

The ‘Dogs went down early when the Beetles scored two runs on a Chad Bunting (Cal-Berkley) homerun in the first inning. The MoonDogs would mount a comeback lead by second baseman Sam Lind (Vanderbilt) who hit a three run home run in the fifth inning to give the MoonDogs their six run lead.

Pitcher Blake Schwartz (Minn. State) went six innings and received the win. He gave up four runs on four hits and struck out four Beetles. Alexandria’s pitcher Kolby Wood (Michigan) went six innings at took the loss. He gave up six runs, four earned, on seven hits.

Lind went two for three on the night with one run scored and three runs batted in. Short stop Julian Duran (San Diego) also went two for three with a run scored and two runs batted in.
