MANKATO, Minn. – MoonDog pitcher Sam Selman earned several postseason accolades, highlighted by spots on Perfect Game’s and Baseball America’s top prospect lists, it was announced recently.

Selman, a rising sophomore from Austin, Texas, was tabbed third in both publications’ lists, coming in as the top ranked pitcher in the league. The left-hander from Vanderbilt was also honored by the Northwoods League, earning a spot on the Postseason All-Star Team.

Selman finished his 2010 MoonDog season with two wins, a 3.89 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 44 innings pitched.

The Mankato MoonDogs are a part of the 16-team Northwoods League, which just finished its 17th year of existence with Eau Claire winning its first league title. Year 18 of the league is scheduled to open in early June of 2011.
