The Mankato MoonDogs won their 10th game of the year Wednesday night, defeating the Willmar Stingers 5-4 at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Starting pitcher Matt Mazzoni (Fresno Pacific) picked up his second win of the summer going 5 1/3 innings allowing one run on six hits while striking out four Stingers batters. Nick Goody (LSU) picked up his third save of the summer, setting down the Stingers in order in the bottom of the ninth. Goody struck out one batter Wednesday Night, and now leads the MoonDogs with 21 K’s on the season.

Blair Moore (San Diego St.) led the team offensively going 2-for-4 with an RBI, bumping his batting average up to .327 on the season.

The MoonDogs return home Thursday night with revenge on their minds, as the Duluth Huskies roll into town for a quick two game series. Mankato lost the final two games of the three game series in Duluth earlier this season. Abel Guerrero (2-0) will make his third start of the season.
