Mankato, Minn. – The MoonDog offense struggled Sunday afternoon as the MoonDogs fell to the Brainerd Lakes Lunkers 6-1.

MoonDog pitcher Logan Taylor (Northeast Texas) suffered his first loss of the season. Taylor pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up six runs on nine hits while striking out four Lunker batters.

The MoonDogs only managed four hits in the game and scored one run. Brainerd pitcher Joe Willman (Northern Colorado) pitched eight complete innings, scattering four hits and striking out seven MoonDogs batters.Casey Roche (Pittsburgh) led the Lunker offense going 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs on the day.

The ‘Dogs return home Monday night for a doubleheader with the Willmar Stingers at 6:05pm. The double-header will consist of two, seven-inning games and make up a previous game between the two teams that was postponed earlier in the season due to rain. Monday is Dollar Dog Night presented by Hormel.
