Mankato, Minn.- The Mankato MoonDogs swept the Brainerd Lunkers Friday night at Franklin Rogers Park by clobbering the Lunkers 12-1. The MoonDogs scored in eight of the nine innings played, with Whitt Dorsey (South Alabama) continuing his hot hitting ways from the plate. Dorsey going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, four RBI and two runs. Dorsey now has a five-game hitting streak and has hit safely in seven of his past eight games played.

Matt Dunbar (Arizona St.) put in a good pitching performance Friday night. Dunbar pitched seven innings, spreading out five hits and only giving up one run. Dunbar now moves to 2-1 on the season with a 2.63 ERA. Jordan Remer (San Francisco) came out of the bullpen to close out the game and pitched two innings, giving up no runs and no hits while striking out three Lunker batters.

Along with Dorsey, Chris Ross (Montevallo) was also 3-for-4 on the night with three runs scored and a double. Joe Loftus (Vanderbilt) also had a great night from the plate. Loftus was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and a triple.

The MoonDogs will now pack their bags and hit the road for eight games, heading to Duluth first to battle the Huskies in a two game series at Wade Stadium. They will then head west for a three-game series at Brainerd and head west again for a three-game series at Willmar before returning home Sunday, August 7th.
