St. Cloud, Minn- The Mankato MoonDogs broke out the big sticks Saturday night, crushing four home runs en route to a 13-6 victory at Joe Faber Field.

With the Dogs and Rox scoreless in the top of the second, the duo of Chris Munoz (Oklahoma City U) and Dan Sheppard (Iowa) smashed back-to-back home runs to stake Mankato to an early 3-0 lead.

For Munoz, the two-run blast was the start to arguably his best offensive day in a MoonDogs uniform. After a Chad Christensen(Nebraska) two-run homer and a Cody Ferrell (Oklahoma City U) walk, Munoz struck again, hitting his second round tripper of the day. Overall, Munoz finished the day 3-5 at the plate with 5 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Christensen continued to impress offensively, going 2-5, with 4 RBI, a home run (3) and a triple.

The MoonDogs had one of their most productive days at the plate, collecting 13 runs on 12 hits, seven of which were extra base hits.

Mankato Starter Davis Henderson (Oklahoma City U) earned the victory in his second start as a MoonDog, going five strong innings, allowing two runs on five hits.
