Waterloo, Ia- The Mankato MoonDogs wrapped up yet another series victory with a 4-2 win over the Waterloo Bucks at Riverfront Stadium.

Kyle McGrath (Louisville) was dominant on the hill for Mankato, at one point retiring 13 consecutive batters. McGrath (5-1) nearly finished his first complete game of the summer, but left the game after 8.2 innings, having thrown 114 pitches against the Bucks. The Louisville lefty allowed two runs on seven hits, while walking two and striking out six.

Closer Patrick Goelz (Oklahoma City U) came in to record the final out Monday night, striking out one to earn his Northwoods League leading 13th save.

With the game tied 1-1 in the 7th inning, Chris Munoz (Oklahoma City) came off the MoonDogs bench, smashing a pinch hit two-run triple down the right field line to give Mankato a 3-1 lead. Munoz, who leads the MoonDogs with 26 RBI, would score five pitches later on a wild pitch to give Mankato a 4-1 lead.

The MoonDogs (32-8) return home for a 7:05pm start Tuesday July, 10th to take on the Rochester Honkers at Franklin Rogers Park. Tuesday’s guest will be the Russian Bar Trio presented in part by Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial and KEYC. They’re one of the most exciting acts around and you may have seen them on America’s Got Talent!
