MANKATO, Minn.- The MoonDogs seem to be in a bit of a rut during the Willmar Stingers series for they have given up seven home runs to the Stingers in the last two games.

The MoonDogs fell to Willmar 2-7 Saturday as starting pitcher Zach Hall (Parkland) got his first loss of the summer making his record 4-1. Hall went 6.2 innings while striking out six Stinger batters and just giving up six hits.

Trevor Belicek (Corpus Christi) relieved Hall and went 1.2 innings pitched, striking out two batters, and giving up a hit.

Patrick Goelz (Oklahoma City) then came in finish out the game and went 1.2 innings and struck out three batters.

The clutch hitter for the MoonDogs was Cody Ferrell (Oklahoma City) who went 1-4 with a double that scored the only two runs for the ‘Dogs.

Through this series the MoonDogs learned a few things about the team that will help them in the future. In baseball anything can happen and the ‘Dogs now know that they need to pull together as a team to fight through this tough series and come out strong for the next game.

The MoonDogs will be back at the Frank Sunday to take on the St. Cloud Rox for a 6:05 start. Sunday is Star Wars Night presented by KXLP. Come see your favorite characters from the Star Wars series and pose for pictures at the Frank, and is also Faith Night number two.
