MANKATO, Minn.–The first time this season the MoonDogs are starting to see inconsistency.

The MoonDogs lost a tough match Tuesday to the Rochester Honkers in a 2-3 game that came down to the ninth inning at the Frank on the Summer St. Patty’s Day promotional night.

Adam Mott (New Mexico) got the start on the bump and did his best to keep his team in the lead. Mott went seven innings deep with three strikeouts and just gave up one Honker run.

Derek Howell (Louisiana-Lafayette) then came in for relief and went two innings with one strikeout, and gave up a big game changing two run home run to Honkers outfielder Justin Parr which made the score 2-3.

Nick Ratajczak (Louisville) was a solid batter for the MoonDogs Tuesday as he went 1-for-3 with a run batted in, and David Andriese (California Riverside) also had a good stick going 1-for-4 with a run scored.

The MoonDogs have gone through some tough times to start out the second half of the season, but in the long run they are getting quality experience on how to handle tough losses such as the one tonight. Through this experience the squad will learn how to work together as a team to get back on the winning streak.

The ‘Dogs will begin a five away game stretch starting against the Rochester Honkers in Rochester Wednesday at Mayo Field.

The Next home game at the Frank for the MoonDogs will be Thursday, July 26th v. the Alexandria Beetles with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m. Thursday is Farm and Food Night.
