MANKATO, Minn.-The MoonDogs end their home game schedule with a bang on Fan Appreciation Night by beating the Willmar Stingers 10-5 Wednesday at the Frank.

Boomer Scarborough (Southern Miss) got the start on the bump and went 3.0 innings, giving up three Stinger hits, and striking out five batters.

Kevin Corey (Chabot) then came in for relief and did his job by going 3.1 innings, striking out two, and giving up one hit.

Trevor Belicek (Corpus Christi) followed Corey by coming in and giving one of his best relieving performances of the year. Belicek went 1.2 innings, struck out five Willmar batters and managed to not give up a hit.

Patrick Goelz (Oklahoma City) then came in to close the game, gave up one hit, and struck out two batters to finish out the match. Goelz now has 24 saves in his MoonDog career.

The big hitters for the MoonDogs Wednesday were
Andrew Coffman who went three-for-four with a home run, double and a single. Coffman also had a run scored and two runs batted in.

Chase Simpson (Oklahoma) was in the number two spot in the lineup and went three-for-five with a home run , three runs scored, and two runs batted in for the ‘Dogs.

The MoonDogs managed to give it all they had for their fans on their last home game. The fans finally got to see what this team is capable of accomplishing after having a tough last couple of weeks.

The ‘Dogs will finish out their season on the road by going to Willmar tomorrow night to finish the series with the Stingers, and then traveling down to Waterloo to take on the Bucks before the playoffs start up on Monday, August 13th.
