The Willmar Stingers (40-27) beat the Mankato MoonDogs (40-27) 8-3 on Thursday at Bill Taunton Stadium.
Davis Henderson made his 6th start as a MoonDog, but would last just 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. Zac Custer was charged with his first loss of the year, lasting just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
Michael Hahn recorded his third win of the year for the Willmar Stingers, allowing three runs over 6 2/3 innings. Hahn allowed seven hits, while striking out five, walking two. Josh Biggs looked sharp on the mound, holding the Mankato MoonDogs hitless over his one inning in relief.
Danny Murphy stayed hot at the plate, finishing his night 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Murphy has now hit saftely in six of his last seven games, going 10-24 at the plate, posting a .417 batting average during that span.
The MoonDogs continue their four game road trip Friday night against the Willmar Stingers. Michael Frericks makes his first start for the Dogs.
