MANKATO, Minn.–The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is pleased to announce the commitment of first baseman Tim Lynch, along with pitchers O’Shea Dumes and Austin Warner to play for the MoonDogs in the 2013 season.

Lynch, a 6-foot-2-inch, 230-pound freshman of Southern Mississippi is currently batting .324 for the Golden Eagles this spring. The Jupiter, Florida native has started all 18 games this spring, despite it being his first year with the team.

"Tim will bring power to the middle of our lineup," said Field Manager Mike Orchard "His success this spring should carry over and help him compete at a high level this summer for us."

In 2011, Lynch represented the State of Florida in the 6th annual Power Showcase International High School Home Run Derby after leading Palm Beach County in home runs on the season.

Dumes, a 6-foot-2-inch, 225-pound freshman of Texas A&M Corpus-Christi has made seven relief appearances for the Islanders this spring. Dumes is currently leading the team with a 1.80 ERA to go along with his seven strikeouts in 10 innings of work.

"O’Shea’s a big body guy and has an impact arm that’ll serve as a huge benefit either as a relief or starting pitcher for the MoonDogs," said Orchard "He has a hard fastball that keeps hitters off balance."

Warner, a 5-foot-10-inch, 170-pound freshman of Bellarmine University (Louisville, Kent.) is 1-1 on the mound, recording five strikeouts with 6.2 innings of work for the Knights this spring. Prior to Bllarmine, Warner registered a season high, 19 strikeouts in a complete game for Trinity High School. The left-hander received All-District honors and was named First-Team All-Catholic by louisvillecatholicsports.com.

"Austin will be a strong pitcher for us out of the bull pen and he’ll be especially tough against left-handed hitters," said Orchard.

The MoonDogs home opener is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29th at 7:05 p.m. against the Rochester Honkers at Franklin Rogers Park. Season tickets are now on sale at the MoonDogs office located at 1221 Caledonia Street. For more information, visit our website www.mankatomoondogs.com or call the MoonDogs office at 507-625-7047.
