ROCHESTER, MINN – The Mankato MoonDogs (4-5) opened up their five game road trip Thursday night at Mayo Field with a 3-1 win over the Rochester Honkers.

Brock Dykxhoorn (West Virginia) made his first start of the summer for Mankato, allowing just three hits while striking out six Honkers batters over six shutout innings.  The six-foot-eight-inch freshman right-hander threw 88 pitches on the night, 56 for strikes, while forcing 10 groundball outs. 

Jesse Harbin (Arkansas- Little Rock) give up the lone run of the night, giving up a solo home run to Honkers center-fielder Alex Greer in the eighth inning.  Harbin picked up his first save of the summer, working two innings in relief out of the Mankato bullpen.
 
Ryan Rosthenhausler (Southern Illinois) got the Dogs on the board in the top of the fourth inning with a two-out RBI single into right field, scoring Jake Ellison (Middle Tennessee State) from second base.  Rosthenhausler finished his night 2-for-3 against Rochester pitching with two runs batted in.  Ellison also swung the bat well, going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.  Newcomer David Masters (Central Arizona) was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and an RBI.
 
The Dogs open up a two game series with Alexandria Friday night a Knute Nelson Memorial Park , with first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm CT.  Ricky Jacquez (Central Arizona) will take the mound for the MoonDogs in the series opener.
