MANKATO, MINN. – After a fun-filled July featuring show-stopping performances and festive theme nights, the Mankato MoonDogs have quite a few treats hidden up their sleeves for their upcoming eight-game home stand to begin the month of August.

With eight games in eight days beginning on August 2 at Franklin Rogers Park, there will be plenty of baseball to take in as the MoonDogs wind down their 2013 Northwoods League regular season.  But if watching the team on the field make a playoff push isn’t enough to whet your appetite, there are several exciting promotional nights in store in the home stand, highlighted by five fantastic giveaways.

Arguably the most exciting giveaway of the week, and probably the season comes on Saturday, August 3 as the first 400 kids receive a free full-sized baseball bat!  Make sure to come the night before as well as the first 500 kids will leave with a free set of 2013 MoonDogs baseball cards presented by Sport PiX and Hot 96.7 on August 2.

The giveaways continue throughout the week, as August 5 is the MoonDogs hat giveaway day, presented by Community Bank and Minnesota 93.  Kids also have an opportunity to get a free book courtesy of Capstone Publishing and Hot 96.7 for Back to School Night on August 6 and a free plush Muttnik on August 8 courtesy of Subway.

August also features a handful of great theme nights that are sure to be a hit for fans of all ages.  On August 4 the MoonDogs pay tribute to our Armed Forces for Military Appreciation Night presented by the Rotary Clubs of St. James, Madelia & Fairmont along with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committees of Watonwan, Brown & Martin Counties and KXLP.

The MoonDogs celebrate the other team in town on August 7 during Minnesota Vikings Night presented by KXLP.  Wear your purple and show your horns as we get excited for the upcoming Vikings season, with perhaps a few special guests in store!

Then finally the MoonDogs wrap up their home schedule on August 9 for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Charter Communications, Radio Mankato and KEYC, complete with a postgame fireworks extravaganza.
