For the second straight night the Thunder Bay Border Cats defeated the Mankato MoonDogs in heartbreak fashion. Thunder Bay picked up a 3-2 victory in 10 innings to claim the series sweep at Port Arthur Stadium on Saturday evening.

The MoonDogs took the lead on an RBI single to center off the bat of Derek Umphres in the top half of fourth.

However, Thunder Bay responded with one run in the sixth and one in the seventh to claim a 2-1 lead.

Peter Maris sent the game to extra innings with an RBI single to left field, plating Brinn Bell who drew a leadoff walk in the top of then ninth.

Nick Studer ended the ball game with a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th.

Lucas Schoccia picked up the win in relief while Trey Cobb suffered the loss.

The MoonDogs return to action Sunday evening at Wade Stadium. First pitch is slated for 5:05 p.m.
