Austin Warner picked up his first win of the season in front of 702 fans at Franklin Rogers Park, Monday night in Mankato, Minnesota.

Warner, the junior left handed pitcher out of Bellarmine, got his second start of the year going five innings while only allowing one run and striking out eight.

Jordan Scheftz and Samuel Myers both worked in relief of Warner, and Kyle Goodbrand finished off the Stingers working the last inning, picking up his first save of the season.

For the MoonDogs offensively, Kaden Moore led the charge going 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Craig Nennig also added two hits and two runs in three trips to the plate.

The Willmar Stingers were led by outfielder Dan Motl who went 2-for-5 and scored a run.

The series now shifts to Willmar for day two of the home and home series. MoonDogs will return to The Frank Wednesday night at 7:05 as they face the Rochester Honkers, where it will be Dollar Dog Night.
