Mankato, Minnesota—After taking game one of today’s double-header in Rochester against the Honkers, the Mankato MoonDogs were able to complete the sweep of the Honkers at Franklin Rogers Park, taking game two by a score of 3-1.

For the third game in a row, Mankato pitching was dominant. Starter Ricky Digrugillers went wire-to-wire for the MoonDogs, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out four.

Rochester got their lone run in the first to take an early lead, but Mankato would tie it back up shortly thereafter however, when Jordan Washam launched his third homerun of the year.

With a still tied game in the seventh, the MoonDogs took their first lead by plating two runs on a David Metzgar single driving in Alex Tucker, while also allowing Alvaro Rubalcabe to come across to score an unearned run of his own.

The single gave Metzgar his second game-winning RBI hit today, as he also drove in the first runs of the game in the ninth inning of game one earlier today, when Mankato won 4-0.

The MoonDogs will be at The Frank all week and take on the Battle Creek Bombers tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m.

The MoonDogs will be making up their opening day festivities presented by Wealth Enhancement featuring Terry Steinbach and a post-game fireworks extravaganza tomorrow.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the gates, at their office at 1221 Caledonia St., or online at www.mankatomoondogs.com
