Mankato, Minnesota—For the final time this season, the Mankato MoonDogs and the Battle Creek Bombers squared off against each other, with the Bombers emerging victorious to end Mankato’s win streak at four.

The MoonDogs, who were looking for their fifth win in four days, would let this one get away from them after taking a two run lead into the eighth and eventually falling by a final score of 7-5.

With two out in the eighth and the bases loaded, Cody O’Brien would get the batter to pop-up but centerfielder Marcus Pingleton would experience difficulties bringing it into his glove, and the Bombers would manage to tie it at four a piece.

The next inning, back-to-back homeruns by the Bombers to lead off the ninth would give Battle Creek their first lead of the night.

Battle Creek would add one more run later in the inning and that would be all they needed, as the ‘Dogs would fail to tie it in their half of the ninth scoring just one of the three runs needed for the comeback.

The La Crosse Loggers will come to the Frank tomorrow night to take on the MoonDogs with just a game and a half separating these two teams as the battle for a North Division playoff spot heats up.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the gates, in their office at 1221 Caledonia St., or online at www.mankatomoondogs.com

You can also listen to the game live on 1230 AM The Fan Mankato, the iHeart Radio App, or online at www.mankatomoondogs.com
